Press Communiqué (followed by complementary notes)

MONOPOLY DILEMMA

For the benefits of all canadian skiers, Professeurs de Ski international (PSi) is denouncing the deliberate control over the downhill skiing teaching technique to be used in Canada. Long done by the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance, the CSIA, those practices are definetely considered as a MONOPOLY Dilemma. For the advancement of skiing into the 21st century, PSi now declares that monopoly as terminated... as the second millennium ended.

PSi urges the CSIA to cease the abuses related to that situation of MONOPOLY. They are asked to stop the promotion to stretch their never-ending lesson programs, which are used exclusively to build "repeat business". CSIA should always use Public Relations where it belongs, for skier-consumers and teaching performance, not for business at skiers expenses.

Professeurs de Ski's most important rule is gold plated; it is the Golden Rule. Within the innovative PSi method, the satisfaction comes from promoting downhill skiing the safest possible way. As a matter of fact, a single so called "technical" session is necessary; two to five days is enough to get used to it. This way, ski instructor-professeurs are not worried about the time skiers take to reach control and higher performance. Performance hungry skiers do notice the upright performance difference. PSi method is a self-learning method; it can't be taught because there is too little to be told. The PSi's ske-book(tm) (pronounce ski book) is sold as a combo "e-book and e-video" files to download from the internet. It comes with a free trial offer (www.profdeski.com). The PSi "learning method" is an excellent deal at 89$ (canadian funds), considering skiers forget about the ski school concept.

PSi is still working underground. Although, they will keep defending consumer?skiers against the abuses and the monopoly long term effects. Professeurs de Ski international is a member of PROF. de Ski(R), the only multi discipline group of Ski Professionals in the world. Its members share their competences among each others for the benifits of skiers. From winter 2000?2001, they will organize complete ski vacations; it is something to look forward to.

This combo "e-book e?video" from the PSi Collection is the first "Ski e-book" "Ski e-video" kit in the world to be sold as downloadable files on the internet in the third Millennium.

Complementary NOTES

This announcement was made necessary because PSi have found out the Canadian Ski Instructors Alliance (CSIA) have decided to promote heavier "repeat business" in ski schools. As a matter of fact, for winter 1999-2000, CSIA has appointed Don Bilodeau to a Public Relations campagn across Canada to promote "better performance"... not in their teaching method, but in their ski school business. There is no relation at all with a new technique or a new approach. Although, they hope to find ways for beginners to spend less time snowplowing before they ski parallele! In other words, they wish to avoid beginner skiers to master snowplow, somehow !

CSIA officials are planning now to cash in on a move giving as only result to go through more useless performance plateau. They sure know how to exploit the confidence their clientele have left in them. In fact, the CSIA's "Teaching Method" dictates to ski school directors to s-t-r-e-t-c-h the progression into heavy "repeat business" for the sake of business performances. Is there any other way to do that? It just happens that PSi is launching their anti "ugly repeat business", which is considered as one important reason why downhill skiing is declining among boomers: unaccessible performance making the sport bo-o-o-ring.

With the introduction of parabolic skis, CSIA officials are purposely jumping on the opportunity to ask their clientele skiers to trust them again... to make them pay for more illusions. We at PSi know as the CSIA there is a good chance for an other boom coming in downhill skiing and in snowboarding. Many ex-skiers will retire in the next five to ten years and they will have the time and the money to ski. Later on, whenever those skiers will quit, the Generation Y will take over... if they do not all snowboard by then! So we wouldn't want to disappoint all those downhill skiers. We won't let anyone present them the same disguised instructional pattern that made them quit the sport ten years ago just because there are new ski designs on the market.

What gave birth to the PROF. de Ski group is the fact that members share their competences among each others for the benefit of skiers. The PSi mission within the PROF. de Ski group goes beyond that. PSI is launching a new "learning method" within a "once-and-for-all-session". It is called "Learning" because it is the skier who decide of the pace and everything else within the shortest and safest learning process. We were told at PSi there is an important marketing rule if we were to compare our learning method: better be sure it is the best. It is, so we will keep comparing it. Skiers will soon find out PSi attitude with skier consumers is gold plated; it is the Golden Rule!

Unfortunately, because of the CSIA monopoly negative power effects, ski areas will look at us as black sheep because we do not belong to the politicaly correct Canadian Ski Council. So, it will happen underground for a while. But it's OK, PSi has already been labeled as a rebel organization by CSIA anyway. PROF. de Ski and PSi are marketing minded organizations; they will soon turn the situation into envy for some. The destination ski areas who will collaborate with PROF. de Ski and PSi will profit a lot from it.
